THE BIBLE-the Word of God

Let me present the whole of the Bible to you in capsule form.  The Bible has been clothed in such mystery as to intimidate some, baffle others, and even to create dissension among religions.  Some so confusing as to create doubt as to the validity of the bible, while yet others live their lives by it. It’s been the same since the beginning of time.  That is where I want to take you now.  Travel with me, if you will, to the beginning of time according to the Bible.

In the beginning, there was only God.  The first book of the Bible, “Gensis,” which means “the beginning,” indicates the beginning of Creation, Mankind, time, etc.. The book of “Revelation” means “fullness of God  in time.” The Word of God states that He always was, is now, and always will be. That is the great spiritual mystery that is solved only by faith’s belief, which in turn brings the reality of experience of this truth.

Truth is another word that describes and defines who God is, He is the truth. Jesus said, “I am the Way, the Truth and the Life, no man cometh unto the Father but by Me.” Jesus is the Father in flesh. God is our Father and He is Spirit, or invisible to the naked eye. Jesus is the physical form of the Spirit.

In Genisis 1:26 God says, “let us make man in our image, after our likness.” Jesus was with God in the beginning, and identified as the Creator and the Holy Spirit is the 3rd person of the trinity. Therefore, we are created by the Godhead and have this fullness of God in our Person as we accept Jesus as our Saviour. The “our” speaks of the trinity, the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.

Verse 27: “So God created man in his own mage, in the image of God created he him, male and female created he them.” What is Image?  When you look into the mirror you see your image. God’s image is Spirit. So, if he made us in his image, he made us spiritual beings, you can’t see spirit, its invisible. Then he said we were made in his likeness, or to be like him in Character.

Websters dictionary defines image as a physical representation or likeness of a person, or an optical counterpart of appearance such as produced by reflection from a mirror.  Character is defined as moral or ethical.
